The

Cello Institute of Milwaukee

Playing a musical instrument involves every essential aspect of the human experience: mental, physical, spiritual and emotional.

Mastering the craft of performance and the art of interpretation requires dedication from the student, teacher and parent.  Foremost, it is the joy of making music that keeps us moving forward toward our goal of artistry.  This idea of learning can be achieved at all levels of development.

Each person is an unique individual with special abilities and talents. Learning to play the cello is much more than mere physical activity.  Students should be challenged to think critically, understand contexts, engage with other learners and to reflect and act.  In short, all of the aspects of learning are at the heart of the Cello Institute of Milwaukee.  We should therefore strive for the use of imagination and intuition, listening and communicating and the need and want of a supportive atmosphere, always considering  their relevance to your musical pursuits.

Our Motto

The prevailing philosophy of the Cello Institute of Milwaukee may be attributed to Pablo Casals:  "The capacity to care is the one thing which gives life its deepest meaning."  "Each second we live is a new and unique moment of the universe; a moment that never was before and never will be again."   The musical education of your child is an investment that can open the world to them.  It is essential to consider the quality and experience of the teacher when making this very important decision.
